8,500 Declare Oneness in the Lord
Tuesday, June 17, 2014
Their cultural diversity may be apparent, but their faith in God brings them together, as CFC Youth for Christ members gathered to proclaim God’s greatness as one community through the biggest praise and worship concert event of the year – the LiveLoud concert, at the Philippine Sports Arena (Ultra) last June 7.

Themed ‘One in the Lord’ and anchored on Ephesians 4:4-5, the concert filled the Philippine Sports Arena, Pasig, with a stellar 8,500 YFC crowd along with their ground-breaking chants of joy and love featuring all-time YFC LiveLoud compositions and newly-launched YFC Songs composed by YFC members.

In LiveLoud 2014, the young people expressed firm oneness not only as a community but also as a generation, one with the Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Conegundo Garganta, Executive Secretary of the Episcopal Commission on Youth, and celebrant of the Pentecost Mass before the concert, affirmed this reality: “What a beautiful view! Young people lining up to enter this place! Because I know there is something wonderful that will happen in this place!”. He added, “Each one of you did not come here to be "selfie" but to be a community that will receive the Holy Spirit on this occasion on Pentecost.”

With the worship led by Singles for Christ International Coordinator Noli Manuel, the young generation shouted their firm communion with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit throughout the night.

Inspired with the movement of the Holy Spirit, 8,500 youth praised in tongues asking for God’s spirit to let it flow within them.  Manuel then fervently expresses God’s message: “I am a God who CREATES, I am a God who RESTORES, I am a God who COMPLETES.” .  Indeed, this was a call to unity with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

By the end of the evening, through the worship, God reminded the hearts and minds of the young that it is only He Who suffices and completes. He is the Father that creates; the Son that saves and restores and the Spirit that completes and empowers. And in this oneness, everyone in the arena were empowered to share the great love of God, much like the outpouring Spirit descended that upon the apostles at Pentecost.

As one community, YFC members prayed for one another as a sign of unity, despite not personally knowing each other. Truly, it is God’s spirit and love uniting the young people as brothers and sisters.

Loud continuous clapping filled the Ultra as the worship reached its peak, each young person thanking God for the meaningful encounter, with a united cry: ‘As we are united in one another, may we also remain united in You.’ (Sonny Mungcal, Allen Manimog and Danica Estillore)
