ANCOP Tala Unveils Sen. Enverga Marker
Monday, February 19, 2018

On January 22, 2018, the Philippine Canadian Charitable Foundation (PCCF) team, represented by its President Romy Rafael and Rosemer Enverga, Executive Vice President, and widow of Senator Tobias Enverga Jr, came all the way from Canada for the unveiling of the marker of the Sen. Tobias Enverga Jr. multi-purpose hall

(MPH). Sen. Enverga, a Filipino-Canadian, was a staunch supporter of ANCOP Canada.

In her emotional message to the home partners, Mrs. Enverga mentioned the kindness of the late senator and how he championed work with poor, especially in the Philippines, through his untiring support for the programs of CFC ANCOP. Mrs. Enverga pledged to continue the work by providing more houses for the families in need.

PCCF, which funded the nearly-completed multi-purpose hall, has been visiting the ANCOP Tala Community for five consecutive years. Together with ANCOP, and other ANCOP partners like Fr. Paul Foulon, the Holy Rosary Parish, and the Dr. Jose N. Reyes Memorial Hospital, the institution has been trying to battle the social stigma brought about by leprosy.

Aside from Rafael and Enverga, the PCCF entourage included the winners of the PCCF beauty pageant - Marian Barcase (PCCF Little Miss Philippines Canada 2017), Jenna Ramos (PCCF Miss Teen Philippines Canada 2017), Raeshan Saeed (PCCF Miss Philippines Canada 2017), and Laila Elcano (PCCF Mrs. Philippines Canada 2017).

Ricky Cuenca, ANCOP Canada President and member of the CFC International Council, said, “This is a great day for us to honor and glorify the Lord. And this is a great day for us to give back to the community.”

PCCF pledged to build 15 more houses by the end of this year. (Diana Mendoza & Romy Medina)
