Bataan Co-op Wins Award

Last October 27, 2017, Co-ops for Christ (Bataan) was awarded as the Most Oustanding Cooperative, 1st Runner-up, under the Small Scale Category. The recognition was awarded by the Galing Bataan Awards, given by the Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PCEDO). The award-giving activity is the first ever in Bataan. It was held at the Vista Mall Activity Center. Co-ops for Christ (Bataan) received a trophy and a cash prize of P25,000.00.

CoFC Bataan Board of Directors Arlene R. Banzon (Chairman), Cosme De Guzman (Vice Chairman), Romeo Almacen, Marilou Manalaysay and Angelito Rodriguez, received the award on behalf of CoFC Bataan. They expressed gratitude for the award and committed to the staff and all the CoFC members that they will continue their efforts to make the cooperative grow.

Co-ops for Christ (Bataan) was established and registered under R.A. 6938 on September 13, 2000, re-registered under R.A. 9520 on October 14, 2010, and is classified as a non-agricultural primary multipurpose cooperative. CoFC Bataan started with a total membership of 42. To date, membership has increased to 266, with services including savings and lending (car loan, secured, education, sickness, production, business and grocery loan), as well as selling of Ablaze products and bags.CoFC Bataan has joined community programs like the “Alay ng Koop ko, Pansagip ng Buhay ko” blood letting activity organized by SAKOMI Federation of Cooperatives last September 17, 2017 in Mariveles District Hospital. 

CoFC is also a member and supports the Balanga City Cooperative Development Council’s (BCCDC) programs during Co-op Month celebrations. CoFC Bataan likewise supports the child sponsorship program through the ANCOP Global Walk. The cooperative is affiliated with the CFC CooperativesFederation and SAKOMI Federation of Cooperatives.
