CFC – Bataan as Heroes of Faith
Monday, October 23, 2017

During the celebration of the 28th anniversary of Couples for Christ Bataan, held recently at the Bataan People’s Center in Balanga, the CFC community was challenged to become “Heroes of Faith” just like the patron saints of each vicariate of the province: St. Peter of Verona, St. Dominic de Guzman, Our Lady of the Pillar and St. Michael Archangel.

Senen Reyes, CFC Bataan Provincial Area Head, reminded everyone that these saints are not really distant. He emphasized that these early Christian missionaries and martyrs gave their whole self to God and to His mission, and by the example of their lives and faith, showed us the qualities of a true hero.Performances from different family ministries and clusters gave color to the event. Booths gave away freebies like rosaries, fliers and other stuff.

Tony Gimenez was introduced as the new CFC Central Luzon Region Head. In his message, he pointed out that Bataan is known as a place of bravery and that the province is where the heart of the Filipino is because so many fought and died there during the war for love of country and its people.

A Eucharistic celebration concluded the occasion, with Fr. Jefferson Paule reiterating in his homily the importance of four things: to be always grateful; to quit complaining; to never compare and to be always faithful to God. He added that pursuant to the CFC theme this year, the community should be firm, strong, courageous, faithful and their acts should always be done with love because it is through these qualities that people see God in us.
