Faith in Action: CFC Mission Core Gathering and First Fruit Offering

Metro Manila, January 5, 2025 – The Couples for Christ community in Metro Manila gathered to mark the new year with their first Mission Core Gathering (MCG) and First Fruit Offering, an annual tradition that combines faith, reflection, and fellowship. Titled “Living the Epiphany in Our Lives,” the event not only commemorated the Feast of the Epiphany but also inspired members to incorporate its spiritual meaning into their daily lives.

Held at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City, the assembly brought together leaders from across Metro Manila, and a few from the Philippine and International Missions, to celebrate the first event of the year and to offer their First Fruits for 2025. As the brethren reflected on their blessings for the past year and prayed for a blessed and fruitful 2025, the presence of the Holy Trinity was truly felt through the worship and sharing of brothers and sisters.

A Morning of Spiritual Preparation

Decz and Janet Malaga from Metro Manila Central A Sector led the Holy Rosary, to prepare the hearts of those present for the Holy Mass which was celebrated by His Excellency Bishop Elias L. Ayuban Jr., CMF, of the Diocese of Cubao.

Offering First Fruits and Renewed Devotion

Following a short break, the assembly gathered again to start the symbolic First Fruits Offering. Jun Uriarte, a member of the CFC International Council, gave the exhortation and encouraged the brethren to reflect deeply on their spiritual journey and commitment, and to give generously to God’s mission through CFC’s work of evangelization. He also invited everyone to offer their first fruits and prayers for the year ahead. The songs played by the Metro Manila Mission Core Band led us into a mood of gratitude and dedication.

Uplifting Testimonies of Faith

One of the highlights of the event was the sharing by brothers and sisters of how faithful and generous our God is in their lives. The testimonies of Arnel Santos, Mission Head of Asia, Ron Navarro from Central A, Raul Bautista from North A, and Jun and Gie Garcia, Provincial Area Head of Bohol, were manifestations of experiences in overcoming life’s challenges and finding joy in God’s presence, leaving each member of the Mission Core inspired and strengthened as they also journey through their lives.

Looking Ahead

The MCG concluded with a renewed spirits and hearts filled with hope, carrying with them the message of the Epiphany: to be guiding lights in their families, workplaces, and communities, reflecting Christ’s love and mission in all aspects of their lives.
