“O MAGHARI KA!”
This was the prayer of more than 4,000 attendees at the last leg of the Liveloud He Reigns Tour that brought the advocacy of praise through music to the City of Golden Friendship, Cagayan de Oro.
The concert was held at CDO’s Limketkai Atrium on September 23, 2023. The theme of the
concert, “He Reigns,” was taken from the Book of Revelation 21:5a NRSV which states, “The one who was seated on the throne said, See, I am making all things new. Write this, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
The program began with a celebration of the Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Warren Tagupa, assisted by Fr. Jonas Awayan. In his homily, Fr. Awayan s a i d , “The invitation to participate in the work of the kingdom is extended to everyone, regardless of their past, their station in life or the hour at which they respond. In God’s eyes we are all equal members of His family.”
He ended his homily with a reminder: “If, brothers and sisters, you feel unworthy in
God’s grace, do not complain or run away from His love. We need His love, because His
love can transform us to becoming a better person, a loyal person, a lovable and merciful person, and above all, a holy person.”
During the concert, worship leader Gian Macatangay, a CFC fulltime pastoral worker from Cebu, echoed the message of Pope Francis: “If we let Christ into our lives, we lose nothing of what makes life free, beautiful and great. Do not be afraid of Christ, He takes nothing away, and He gives you everything.”
“God is moving and working. Yes, life is not easy. Pero kibaw mo wala ta’y angay ikahadlok (we have nothing to be afraid of), because my dear friends, nothing’s impossible with our God,” he reiterated.
The concert follows the theme of the first online concert of Liveloud in 2021, during the pandemic, and the concert tour is part of the efforts of the advocacy to return to face-to-face sharing of the Gospel.
Aside from upcoming national and international concerts, Liveloud is gearing up for their EP album that is set to be released before the end of the year.
