ANCOP (Answering the Cry of the Poor) had the annual fundraising “ANCOP Global Walk (AGW)” last October 25, 2025 at the hip-and-trending Vermosa Sports Hub in Imus, Cavite. This year’s AGW was made extra special with the 3k and 5k dash. Of course, CFC Cavite leaders and members, from toddlers to seniors, would not be left behind even for a 3k walk!

The Lord blessed attendees with a pleasant weather for running and walking. The sun was so gentle with its rays, the wind blowing softly in our faces and the Spirit-filled community radiating joy with their genuine smiles and laughter. Giving is truly a blessing!
Powerful messages of faith and inspiration were accorded by Bro. Jimmy Nazaire (Work With the Poor Provincial Head), Bro. Jimmy Manrique (CFC Cavite Provincial Area Head), Bro. Boy Apin (CFC CALBARZON Region Head), and Bro. Boyet Rafael of the CFC International Council. Bro. Ronan Marcelo (YFC Provincial Coordinator) and Bro. Herbert Maraguinit (SFC Provincial Coordinator) led the opening and closing worship respectively.

The highlight of the morning was the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Rev. Fr. Ned Nazareno, Spiritual Director of CFC Cavite. In his homily, Fr. Ned shared that he was reminded by some CFC Cavite members about how he also celebrated the AGW Mass ten years ago.

Fr. Ned beamed with pride to witness that AGW participation grew in numbers so much that they required a bigger venue. He then reminded the attendees that despite the current issues and turmoil throughout the country and in our own lives, the Lord is always present—and always will be. That the Lord will never tire of tending, gathering, carrying and leading His flock was a timely message of hope and assurance. In these challenging times where war rages on in the Middle East and famine continues in the Gaza Strip, alongside widespread corruption and threat of natural calamities in the Philippines, the Lord sends a message of love and hope.
The event ended yet the day was just beginning. Truly we may face adversity, but we have a weapon in our hearts. CFC Cavite has helped their ANCOP scholars, who are young students who will soon accomplish their own dreams, build their lives, and anchor themselves in God. It is a cycle that CFC intends to always maintain. In our hearts we have taken part in fulfilling our covenant and mission: to build the Church of the home and build the Church of the poor.

“Like a shepherd He will tend His flock, In His Arm He will gather the lambs and carry them in the fold of His robe; He will gently lead the nursing ewes.” Isaiah 40:11
