West A Finishes First Batch of R2R

The CFC ReForm Program of West A conducted the Road to Recovery (R2R) program, called S.T.O.P. D.R.U.G. A.B.U.S.E., for the first batch of participants covered by the sector. The program, the last three sessions of which were given on March 26, was held at the Virgen ng Lourdes Parish, Bagong Barrio, Kalookan.

West A Sector Head Nonoy Caunga, together with Atty. Bok Labastilla, Executive Director of the Caloocan Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC); Fr. Silverio Mutia from the San Roque Cathedral; Fr. James Ty, IVE, Parish Vicar of the Our Lady of Lujan Parish and Priest Minister for After Care Program; and Rev. Fr. Marcelo A. Andamon, OMI, Parish Priest of Virgen ng Lourdes Parish were present to personally congratulate and encourage those who finished the module. Caunga and Fr. Ty agreed that inviting those who completed the R2R module to the CLP will be part of the after care program.

The partnership among CFC, the local government of Kalookan City, and the Diocese of Kalookan is expected to produce more “graduates” of the R2R Program in the coming months. This is in response to the government’s anti-drug campaign and the Church’s call to help in the rehabilitation of community-based patients afflicted with substance abuse. (Alma Alvarez)
