Central C KFC Holds Mother-Daughter Camp

On January 27 to 28, the Kids for Christ of Central C held the Sugar & Spice Mother and Daughter (MAD) Camp, an overnight activity for mothers and their daughters ages 6-12. The camp was held at the Saint Joseph Retreat House, Sampaloc, Manila, and was participated in by nine mother and daughter pairs.

The camp was led by Ana Melgarejo, KFC Sector Coordinator, Angie Tenorio, KFC Community-based Coordinator and Ellen Marasigan, KFC Cluster 5 Coordinator. Talks included World of Women (WOW!), Mommy Forum and Daughter Forum and Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice. Speakers were Yaio Dizon, Sector Family Ministry Leader; Liezl and daughter Chin-chin Lizardo, CFC Cluster 1 Leader; and Angie Tenorio respectively.

The camp is a must for both mother and daughter as it aims to improve the line of communication between them; provide awareness about each other that will strengthen their relationship; and address areas of concern that may hinder a good relationship.

Without the gadgets and everyday concerns that prevent and distract both parents and children from really knowing each oth-er and talking with each other, the weekend was really a breather as it provided the needed venue, time and ‘girls’ talk for the participants. The highlight was the mothers and daughters coming to terms with their personal issues.

The event was capped by a closing exhortation/worship by Marielle Mandac, Sector ROCK Coordinator. The weekend proved to be a warm, fun-filled and meaningful time, especially for the daughters who had the full attention and love of their mothers. (Pinky Boquila)
