Central C: Rekindling, Fulfilling

The weather was balmy but inside the National School for the Deaf, the atmosphere was hot because of the enthusiasm of the 473 leaders and members from Central C who gathered for the sector’s annual Evangelization Rally. The event was held on February 25, and ably led by Lito Maling, PFO Head.

The rally was aptly begun by the celebration of the Holy Mass presided by Fr. Raymund Tapia, who reminded everyone of the need for evangelization. He thanked the Lord for the gift of CFC and its commitment to help the Church evangelize families.

Fr. Tapia emphasized that difficulties abound in service to the Lord and to the people which may cause servants to lose heart, but he reminded those present that there is an ever-loving God, who is present especially when hardships come. He spoke about leaving one’s comfort zone, taking off from the lessons of the day’s Gospel, and urged everyone to go out and evangelize de-spite trials.

After the short break, Jimmy Ilagan, former IC member and now spokesperson for the CBCP Commission on Family and Life, spoke of giftedness, quoting St. James: Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Ilagan reiterated that for CFC to live out being ‘gifts’ to one another and to the community, everyone must first acknowledge that God is the source of everything, and that He is always faithful, for which CFC must always be grateful.Edwin Rosales shared how CFC was instrumental in molding his family for service, in helping them overcome various family crises, including when he underwent a heart bypass. His wife Eva urged everyone not to be lukewarm in serving the Lord because CFC is truly a caring and loving family that one can depend on.

Worthwhile to note were the reports given by the heads of the Family Ministries (Boy Dizon), ANCOP (Jonny San Miguel) and Evangelization and Mis-sions (Obet Sanchez), followed with reports on what their ministries are doing. Leo Amat, Sector Head for Central C, gave an inspirational talk after the reports, during which he encouraged everyone to bring at least one couple into CFC this year.

Amat expounded on the sector’s thrust which is to be present in every nook and corner, in every street, barangay and chapel of the areas it covers and expressed his trust that, in God’s greatness and in His perfect time, CFC Central C will truly be living witnesses of His love.Arnold Boquila, Mission Support Head, concluded the rally with a powerful worship. He exhorted the members of the sector to go and thank their household heads, and express their commitment to fully support each other in this challenging yet worthy cause for the Lord.
