North B’s Mission Core Fellowship Night

In 2015, North B added a Mission Core Fellowship Night to its annual CFC sector activities. Normally scheduled as a year-ender for the Mission Core Group (MCG), it is considered a ‘Big Night”, a reason for everyone to come in their best finery and enjoy the party.

The 2017 MC fellowship night was held on December 2 at the Filinvest I Club House, with “70’s Disco Party…Shake Your Groove Thing” as its theme. Every-one, including Sector Head Fortune Ilaya and his wife Ethel, came in their best 1970’s costume… the men sporting afro hairstyles, hippie “Saturday Night Fever” outfits, or The Village People macho men attire. The ladies came in their most colorful flowing outfits – flared pants, wide head bands, hippie-chic prints and mini-skirts, which were all the craze of dekada 70.

Everyone indeed grooved to an evening of music and dancing, with the “Heart and Soul Band” rendering the 70’s top hits from dinner time until the last dancers dropped to their knees in joyful exhaustion.

Surprise numbers and games from the cluster households, HOLD and the Mission Support Group entertained everyone. Three dance instructors lured everyone onto the dance floor for line and ballroom dancing. The party hosts, Ben Mendoza and Brad Calub called on the Mission Support Group Head, Lito and Jojo Santos to present the night’s awards. Adjudged “King and Queen of the Night” (Best in Costume) were Nene Dimalibot and Rene Mendoza while Art and Analie Almanzor bagged the “Couple of the Night” Award.

The fellowship night was truly a fitting and joyous end for the year that was, as well as a reinvigorating experience that will enable everyone to face thechallenges of the year that has begun. (Belle G. Avellanosa)
