SOUTH B CELEBRATES 21ST ANNIVERSARY IN AWESOME DISPLAY OF PAGEANTRY

With “A New Springtime” as theme, the Metro Manila South B Sector celebrated its 21st anniversary last September 16, 2017 at the Parañaque Sports Gym.

In keeping with the “New Springtime” theme, the members of South B wore colorful floral printed outfits, some even with equally colorful headdresses.

The gym was profuse with flowers and crystal beads, also evocative of the springtime theme. South B Sector Head Barry Tad-y and his wife An-gie, warmly welcomed the sector leaders and members, as well as important guests. In his anniversary message, Tad-y quoted John 12:24 which says, “…until the grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat; but if it dies, it produces much fruit.” He mentioned that this verse, together with the first talk of the Mission Core Strong and Faithful Weekend in Baguio in January, “A New Springtime,” is the inspiration for the sector’s anniversary celebration. He reminded the sector members that there is reason to rejoice because truly, the sector is yielding abundant fruit. South B has blossomed to a full 10 clusters and all the ministries and programs are fully established.

As a challenge to all the sector members, Tad-y said: “As a sector, it should be our united and persevering prayer for “A New Springtime” to truly unfold. Like an evergreen tree, may South B persist to blossom even in autumn and winter. Amid evil and dark times, may our sector flow with the water of life, with Mama Mary, the first disciple, as our model.” With the participation of all the Family Ministries and a special musical number from “South Beatles” retro band, the night was filled with fun, fellowship and food.

The colorful Broadway number of the HOLD opened the presentation of production numbers. Not to be outdone, the KFC, YFC, SFC and SOLD followed suit, exhibiting their talents to the “Ooohs!” and “Aaahs!” of the crowd. As a fitting end to the celebration, and in keeping with the CFC culture of always giving the glory back to God, Fr. Resty Ogsimer celebrated Holy Mass. (Ike & Carmen Bontia)
