YFC goes high

Last August 26, 2017, Don Bosco Makati hosted High School High, the CFC-Youth for Christ Metro Manila High School-based Program annual event for high school students. During this activity, 183 young men and women encountered God in the context of fun, freedom, friendship, and faith.

The CFC Youth for Christ High School-Based Program is one of the four programs of CFC-Youth for Christ. Its major thrust is to “Bring God’s High to the Schools.” To be able to make this a reality, the program designed formation activities which will allow the young people to indeed encounter God. This year’s theme, Solo Dios, a Spanish term meaning “Only God” aims to inspire the youth to seek the ultimate joy that only God can give.

Donovan Catindoy, former YFC DLSU President gave a talk on “Solo Dios”, rallying the youth in high school to cling to God who is the source of truth and happiness. After the spirit-filled session, the high schoolers were treated to a “Jesus and Me” or JAM, an acoustic jamming session where the young people got to enjoy and play music together.

High School High is a creative evangelization event that seeks to attract young people in high school to join YFC. It was piloted in one of the schools in Metro Manila, and since then, it has spread to more than 50 high school campuses all over the Philippines and in the International Missions areas. To date, 28 provinces have already conducted the High School High.
