CFC North A Falls in Love with Missions

NORTH A has been actively going out on mission trips since 1985.

The sector leaders have proved their willingness to give their all to mission by willingly accepting positions such as Provincial Area Heads (PAH), Regional Heads (RD), Country Coordinators (CC). Among those who have served in these capacities are Caloy and Pia Yturzaeta who have served in these positions, including being CC of the United Kingdom, Bing and Ellen Hizon, Pepe and Myra Lazaro, Romy and Ludy Colabres, Mon and Juliet Buyco, Nilo and Edna Segismundo, Robert and Lourna Jimenez, Ben and Mitos (+) Babilonia and Senen and Marie Reyes.

Today, as it celebrates its 32nd year anniversary, mission work continues to be part of the life of the sector. In the past three years, however, mission trips have intensified, such that all the eight clusters, led by the Sector Governance Team, have gone on mission to various provinces, conducting MER1 and 2, Youth Camps, teachings, echo weekends, and Christian Life Programs. Among the provinces they have visited are: Tarlac, Marinduque, Ifugao, Mt. Province, Bataan, Oriental Mindoro, Southern Leyte, Bulacan, Pampanga, Lanao del Norte and Apayao.

It is a great joy for many of the mission teams serving the CFC brethren in provinces to see the smiles and gratitude of the participants of the various evangelization and formations conducted. The mission trips have also strengthened the bond among the sector’s mission teams, with all of them struck by the realization that it is indeed fulfilling to serve the Lord in the missions.

As the love for the mission intensifies, the sector is also praying for more brethren to answer the call for international missions to discover, encourage, collaborate and celebrate the joy of the mission. Indeed, the sector looks to Pope Francis’ theology of mission as appropriate to their own community life: “Life grows by being given away, and it weakens in isolation and comfort.”
